A classic motion detector tells you something happened. A MotionCam shows you what.

How it works

The detector has a built-in camera. With each alarm, it takes a series of images and transmits them to the app within seconds. You immediately see whether it's an intrusion, the cat, or a curtain blown by a draft.

Why it changes everything

Without photo verification, an alarm forces you to go back home, or to send someone – often for nothing. With it, you can resolve the doubt from your phone, wherever you are. This is also what remote monitoring centers require to trigger an intervention: a verified alarm is treated as a priority, a stand-alone alarm much less so.

PhOD: Photo on Demand

PhOD (Photo on Demand) models also allow you to request an image whenever you want, without any alarm being triggered. Useful for checking if you closed up properly, or if the children are home.

Indoor or Outdoor

Outdoor models combine two infrared sensors and anti-masking analysis to ignore animals, foliage, and bad weather. They detect intrusion before it reaches the building — a few minutes that change everything.

Prerequisite

Photo verification requires a Hub 2 or higher control panel. A first-generation Hub does not transmit images.

Placement

At approximately 2.4 m in height, oriented so that the intruder crosses the field of view. Avoid backlighting from a window: the photo would only show a black silhouette.
