Ajax Sirens

Ajax sirens: deter and drive away

The siren is the most underestimated component of an alarm system. An intrusion that is detected but silent lets the burglar carry on undisturbed. A powerful, visible siren that is hard to neutralise cuts the break-in short — and that is often all it needs to do.

Indoor or outdoor?

HomeSiren is the indoor siren. Compact, it fits in a hallway or stairwell. Its role is to make staying in the building unbearable and to let occupants know that an alarm is in progress.

StreetSiren is the outdoor siren. It works on two levels: noise and, above all, visibility. A siren on the façade sends a signal to anyone scouting the property long before any attempt. Many break-ins never begin for this reason alone.

StreetSiren DoubleDeck adds a compartment for a custom panel — a logo, a monitoring notice — further strengthening the deterrent effect.

Anti-tamper protection

All Ajax sirens have a tamper switch: any attempt to open the casing or pull it off its mount immediately triggers the alarm. Outdoor models also have an internal battery: cutting the power does not silence them.

Where to install it?

The rule is simple: as high and as visible as possible. On the façade, more than 2.5 m above the ground, out of reach of an improvised ladder, and on the side most exposed to the street. Indoors, avoid placing it in the protected room itself: an intruder who can reach it in three seconds has not been deterred.

Frequently asked questions

How loud are they?
Ajax sirens deliver between 85 and 113 dB depending on the model. Above 100 dB at one metre, staying in the room becomes genuinely difficult.

How many sirens per system?
A Hub accepts up to 10 sirens and keypads combined. In practice, one outdoor siren and one or two indoor sirens are enough for a home.

Does the siren work during a power cut?
Yes. Ajax sirens run on an internal battery and remain operational independently of the mains.

Is there a legal time limit in Belgium?
Yes, the operating time of an outdoor siren is regulated. Ajax's default setting stays within the usual limits; check the municipal regulations that apply at your address.
