Ajax services and licences
An Ajax system is more than just hardware. Two services determine what it can really do: the way the hub transmits its alarms, and how long the footage from your cameras remains available.
M2M SIM card — the backup channel
An alarm connected only via the internet has an obvious weak spot: unplug the router and nothing gets out. The encrypted M2M SIM card with a Belgian number is the second channel: the hub automatically switches to the mobile network and keeps transmitting alarms and verification photos.
In practice it is also a prerequisite for any connection to a monitoring centre: without a backup channel, an operator cannot guarantee alarm verification. 12-month contract, paid in full when you order.
Ajax Cloud licences — footage archiving
Ajax Cloud licences determine how long recordings from your Ajax cameras are kept, independently of an on-site NVR recorder. There are three tiers — Economy, Standard and Premium — each available with 7 or 30 days of archiving, per camera.
The choice depends on two things: the number of cameras to cover, and how far back you need to be able to go. A useful reminder in Belgium: CCTV footage must be deleted after one month, unless it can serve as evidence — beyond 30 days, you are paying for archiving that the law requires you to delete.
These licences are sold on request: write to us with the number of cameras and the retention period you want, and we will confirm the right tier and the price.
