Magnetic contacts

Magnetic Opening Contacts

The magnetic contact is the simplest and most reliable detector in an installation: two parts, one on the frame, the other on the opening. As soon as they separate, the alarm goes off.

DoorProtect or DoorProtect Plus?

DoorProtect detects opening. This is what you need for a window, a garage door, an interior door.

DoorProtect Plus adds an accelerometer and a vibration sensor. It therefore also detects an attempted forced entry or a broken window, even before the door opens. For an entrance door or a bay window, this is the model to choose: it warns you during the intrusion, not after.

Where to install it

On the edge opposite the hinges, where the gap is maximal when opening. Observe the maximum gap between the casing and the magnet indicated on the data sheet — beyond that, the detector will signal a permanent opening. On a metal frame, plan for a spacer block: metal interferes with the magnetic field.

Wireless or wired?

For renovation, the wireless Jeweller version installs in two minutes and lasts up to seven years on battery.

How many are needed?

One per truly accessible opening. There's no need to equip an inaccessible skylight; it's essential for the service door that is always forgotten.
