Entry-level Ajax alarm kit: Hub control panel (GSM and Ethernet), motion detector, opening contact and remote control.
This black version of the kit contains the same items as the white kit, in a black finish.
Who it is for
It is the right size for a small apartment, a studio or a second home: one passage zone covered, the front door monitored, and a remote control to arm the system on your way out. The bare essentials, but complete and expandable.
Its limits, frankly
The first-generation Hub control panel does not handle photo verification. You will know that an alarm went off, not what triggered it. If remote verification matters to you — and it quickly does after the first false alarm — go for a Hub 2 kit instead.
The kit does not contain a siren either. As it stands, the alert is silent and goes only to your phone: effective for being warned, with no deterrent effect on site.
What to add first
- An outdoor siren — the best cost/effect ratio in all residential security.
- One opening contact per ground-floor access.
- A second detector if the home has more than one passage zone.
