Description
The Ajax DoorProtect Plus combines a magnetic opening contact with a shock sensor and a tilt sensor. Three ways to detect a break-in on the same opening.
Why the Plus model, and not the standard one
A simple magnetic contact triggers when the door opens — in other words, when the intruder is already coming in. The shock sensor, on the other hand, reacts at the moment force is applied: a blow to the door leaf, an attempt to pry it open, the breaking of a French window pane.
Those few tens of seconds gained change the outcome. Many break-ins stop within a minute of a siren going off.
The tilt sensor covers a third case: a tilt-and-turn window left ajar, a leaf lifted off its hinges, an up-and-over garage door.
Where to place it first
- The front door and the back or garage door.
- The ground-floor windows reachable without a ladder — these are the ones targeted.
- French windows and sliding bays, where the shock sensor really comes into its own.
Early detection
An opening detector protects the point of passage. It does not replace a motion detector inside, nor an outdoor detector that spots the intruder in the garden before they touch anything.
