AirShield is Dahua's wireless alarm system. Its main advantage is that it integrates natively with Dahua video surveillance in a single application, DMSS. Alarm and cameras, one account, one interface.
How it works
A control panel (the ARC3000H) communicates with detectors via two-way 868 MHz radio, encrypted with AES 128-bit and frequency hopping. The advertised range is up to 1,600 meters in open field. Each device is added by scanning its code in DMSS, with no wiring required.
AirShield or Ajax?
The two systems are totally incompatible with each other: an AirShield detector will never work on an Ajax Hub, and vice versa. The choice must therefore be made upstream.
AirShield is more economical and is especially justified if you already have Dahua cameras: everything is controlled in the same place, without a gateway or a second application subscription.
Ajax offers a much wider catalog of devices, more advanced automations, and a certified professional range. This is the choice for a structuring alarm installation.
Certification
AirShield devices are certified Security Grade 2, a level suitable for homes and small businesses.
