Dahua Brackets and Mounts

Dahua Mounts and Brackets

The mount is not a secondary accessory: it determines the actual viewing angle, image stability in wind, and resistance to tearing off.

Main types

Wall mounts — the standard. Prioritize those with integrated cable routing: a visible cable is an obvious point of sabotage.

Corner mounts — for attaching a camera to the edge of a building and covering two facades from a single point.

Ceiling and pendant mounts — for indoor domes, and for lowering a camera under an awning or framework.

Pole mounts — for light poles and parking lot masts, with clamps adapted to the diameter.

Junction boxes — they house network connections and excess cable, protecting them from moisture. Essential outdoors, and too often overlooked.

Two common mistakes

Mounting a camera too low: below 2.5 m, it's within reach. Aim for 3 to 4 m outdoors, tilted downwards.

Neglecting the waterproofing of the connection: the most common failure in outdoor video surveillance is not the camera, it's the corroded RJ45 connector in a poorly sealed box.
